Genumark Unveils Green Products & Initiatives
IMA Canada member Genumark has implemented a two-pronged green initiative that reflects the company’s strong core values.
“Our society, the economy and the environment more interconnected than ever,” says Andrew Chin, Genumark marketing co-ordinator. “It’s important for us and our customers to play a role in ensuring we are as ‘green’ as we can be, and to do our part in working towards long-term sustainability.”
For its customers, Genumark has developed the Promoting the Planet™ line of merchandise, a unique and diverse collection of environmentally responsible products. Genumark clients are now able to obtain innovative promotional merchandise which incorporates at least one of the following elements:
- Made with Sustainable Material
- Made with Recycled Material
- Recyclable
- Biodegradable
- Carbon Neutral through Zero footprint Offsets
Genumark is also implementing an internal environmental management system or EMS. The system helps to establish standard practices, procedures, processes, roles and responsibilities, with designated resources to establish and maintain an environmental program. This EMS is based on the International Organization for Standardization’s (ISO) 1400 series. Key elements of the Genumark EMS system include:
- Commitment to an environmental policy
- Planning: Goals, objectives, and targets
- Auditing and corrective action
- Management Reviews
- Continual Improvement
- An Employee Awareness Initiative which focuses on the “greening” of all activities both internally and externally
